A little bit about me...
With almost 20 years in real estate, Shawna brings a well-rounded understanding of the industry from almost every angle. She has experience in assisting, transaction management, operations, business management, training, photography, staging, client support, and problem-solving behind the scenes. Because she has worked in so many areas of the business, she is able to see the bigger picture, understand how all the moving parts work together, and guide clients and agents with confidence, clarity, and a personal touch.
Shawna’s path into real estate was not exactly traditional. She studied criminal justice and human resource management with an emphasis in public administration, which gave her a strong foundation in communication, leadership, problem-solving, and understanding people. Those skills have carried right into her real estate career and continue to shape the way she connects with others.
One of Shawna’s favorite parts of this industry is building genuine relationships. Every client, agent, and situation is different, and she has a natural ability to meet people where they are, explain things in a way that makes sense, and help them feel confident throughout the process. Whether she is guiding someone through one of the biggest investments of their life, training agents, working through a challenge, or using technology to make life easier, she is happiest when she is helping people.
Fun, down-to-earth, tech-savvy, and always up for learning something new, Shawna loves continuing to grow both personally and professionally. She believes real estate should feel less overwhelming and more approachable, and she brings knowledge, creativity, calm, and a little humor to the table.
Outside of real estate, Shawna is a mom to three amazing kids and a dog mom to her mini Goldendoodle, Leo, who is basically her fourth child. She is a total book nerd, loves traveling, especially abroad, and is always up for a spontaneous getaway.
Shawna grew up in Iowa and has called the Des Moines area home for almost 30 years. This community means a lot to her, and she loves being part of an industry that allows her to help people build their lives here.
